PC game with ranking

Mischkablaster

Bombs, crates, chaos: the party classic for up to 10 players – with an ELO ranking.

Mischkablaster is a bomb-action game in the style of the great party classics: up to ten players plant bombs, blow up crates, collect power-ups – and whoever's left standing wins the round. Play locally on one PC with keyboards and gamepads, online via lobby or direct connection, or a mix of both. Free slots are filled by AI opponents at four difficulty levels, from Easy to Insane.

Anyone who logs into the lobby with their Clanwirtschaft account plays for ELO points. A ranking, team ranking, player profile and a detailed match report with every round appear automatically on the platform. Open online games are listed under “Open games” – both on the website and in the game.

To play, you need a free Clanwirtschaft account and a community that has activated the game. Coming to Steam in Q4 2026 – add it to your wishlist now.

Rulebook

Mischkablaster: rules & gameplay

All details reflect the current state of the game. Numeric values are for game balance and may be adjusted.

Objective & gameplay

  • Blow up your opponents with bombs. Whoever's left standing wins the round.
  • The session is won by whoever first reaches the set number of round wins – 1 to 15, default 3.
  • A round lasts at most 2 minutes, after which it ends in a draw.
  • From 1:00 remaining, the two outer rings of the arena collapse (configurable: random, clockwise, or off). A death from a collapse doesn't count as a kill for anyone.
  • The final standings count round wins, with kills as the tiebreaker.

Maps

There's a large map (21×15 tiles, up to 10 players) and a small one (15×13 tiles, up to 5 players). Layouts: Classic, Open, Maze, Fortress or Random. Themes: Meadow, Desert, Snow, Night or Random.

You start with 1 bomb, a blast radius of 2, and normal speed. A bomb detonates after 2.5 seconds. Roughly every third crate hides a power-up.

Power-ups

Power-upEffect
Bomb +1Place one more bomb at a time (up to 8)
Fire +1Bigger explosions (up to 10)
Speed +1Run faster (up to 4 levels)
KickRunning into a bomb kicks it away
GloveThrows a bomb 3 tiles – even over walls
Remote detonatorBombs only explode on a button press
Line bombPlaces a whole row of bombs in the direction you're facing
Crate ghostYou walk straight through crates

Kick, Glove, Remote Detonator, Line Bomb and Crate Ghost can each be disabled in the lobby. When you die, your power-ups drop onto the arena.

Ailments (optional)

Skull power-ups trigger an ailment. It lasts 12 seconds and is contagious to other players on contact.

  • Turbo speed: you run at a barely controllable pace.
  • Mini bomb: your bombs only reach 1 tile.
  • Reversed: your controls are swapped.
  • Constant bombs: you drop bombs non-stop.
  • Slow: you crawl across the arena.

Teams, characters & awards

  • Play free-for-all or in 2 to 5 teams: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Purple.
  • Friendly fire is always on, but hitting your own team doesn't count as a kill. The last team with survivors wins the round – the win counts for every member, even those already eliminated.
  • Three characters (Classic, Bomber Boy, Bomber Girl) and ten colours; each colour is unique per lobby. Your favourite character and colour are saved to your Clanwirtschaft profile.
  • At the end of every session, up to 10 awards are handed out – such as Survivor, Crate Crusher, Bomb Juggler, Patient Zero or Self-Destruct King.

Ranking & ELO rating

  • Every player logs into the lobby with their Clanwirtschaft account – even several on one PC. The password is never stored.
  • A session counts if it was played to completion with at least 2 logged-in players. Guests and AI appear in the match report but don't earn points.
  • Everyone starts at 1200 ELO. Players are compared pairwise by placement: a better placement counts as a win, an equal placement as a draw. The more players, the smaller the impact of each individual comparison.
  • Anyone who disconnects is scored as last place.
  • Team sessions don't change individual ELO – they update a separate team ELO instead. When the same group of logged-in players plays together, a fixed team with its own rating forms automatically.
  • You appear on the ranking once you've completed 3 rated sessions.
